Volleyball U19 Championships in Rovaniemi, Finland
Just as with the U17 tournament in Denmark, last year the U19 NEVZA Championships returned after a two years’ break due to the pandemic. This year, six boys’ and seven girls’ teams are welcomed to “Santa Claus hometown” in Rovaniemi, Finland from October 28th to the 30th. All matches will be streamed live.
Teams are coming from Denmark, England, Faroe Islands, Iceland (girls only), Norway and Sweden to compete with the host teams of Finland for the honour and medals. The pandemic restrictions hit the NEVZA countries very hard, not allowing any exchange between the countries. Last year was an impressing startup, but the level of the games is expected to be even higher this year, when the teams have had full freedom to practice and play.
The tournament start with pool play during Friday, first matches already 09:15 Finnish time (08:15 CET). It is played in three halls, Santasport, the main arena, Keltokangas and Ounasrinne.
